My words are my thoughts and I'm a pessimist person who just thinks that Murphy's Law is what defines me. I believe that anything bad that has ever happened will continue to do so. So, if anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway...

It looks like a bunch of garbled text, huh? Well, you can actually learn how to decode using by reading this post.

If you hate challenges, you might want to try jlys@[remove-this]tm.net.my but I only used this sparingly as it's the primary target for junk mails.

All Hail To The Might Of The Emperor Part II

Well, it seems that the game Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War has been released and some of my old buddies were eager to slug it out mano-e-mano over the LAN party. However, some problem arisen when... I think I better explain it from the beginning...

Friend #1: "Dude, I heard this Dawn of War LAN party is good."
Friend #2: "Yea, man, I heard that they modified the game rule to accommodate it to real time. I just can't wait to get my hands on the Space Marines!"
Friend #3: "Hah! Space Marines? Who needs them when Chaos has such a powerful force?"
Friend #2: "Eh, cannot say one. Warhammer 40K is a balanced game."

Yada Yada Yada... and the friends of 9 talked it all over breakfast before suddenly someone with a little brain left reminded the whole gang:

Friend #7: "Eh, wait a minute! How are we going to play against each other?"
Friend #5: "I got a 3COM 100Mbit hub what..."
Friend #1, #3, #4, #6 & #8: "And we got notebooks..." *laughing at us desktop guys*
Me: "Gentlemen, since we have establish the hardware, I guess there are not problem determining the venue?"

Silence. Since Friend #6 has the biggest house, everyone is looking at him.

Friend #6: "No problem. Just make sure you guys got the snacks..."
Friend #4: "Alright, now how about the desktop guys?"
Friend #6: "I got a few monitors that these guys can use. So, just bring your CPU..."
Friend #8: "Alright, now that's what we're talking about. Er, just one more thing guys, do you know how to configure LAN?"

Silence again. Everyone was looking at each other. Let's look at their credentials.

Friend #1, #2, #3 & #4: Took the same course as mine. That's computer/telecommunication engineering.
Friend #5, #6 & #7: From Computer Science background
Friend #8: The only black sheep - he's in accounts

Then the rest of us looked at #5, #6 & #7. And they looked at each other again, not knowing what to do. All of a sudden, Friend #5 broke out:

Friend #5: "Hey, Jase worked in the Technical Support department! He should have a clear idea on configuring the LAN!"

Shit!

All of a sudden the whole mob turned onto me. I can't believe it! Computer Science guys has no idea of LAN, pings, ipconfig (ifconfig in some cases - if you know what I mean), tracert & etc. What an embarrasment if I told the whole world that the Computer Science student don't know the basics of computer networking. And someone just have to shove the crap deeper in your throat:

Friend #7: "Yeah, we should let Jase configure for us all!"

Double shit!

I have enough of supporting customers and now I have to support these old guys. This totally deprived of my dignity of being a technical support guy...

Keksim during my course of action on the LAN party. But after configuring for like an eternity, we got it running and blasting each other for fun... And damn, the winner of the first match was the host himself (Friend #6), taking Eldar race. Face it, we actually have to let him win because if otherwise, we'll be kicked out after the first match...
