It looks like a bunch of garbled text, huh? Well, you can actually learn how to decode using by reading this post.

 Pain(t)ball Event

Recently Bonus & Fuminari organized a paintball event and there were lots of participants. During the rendezvous, one by one started to join us and it took a full 40 minutes before the whole convoy of 9 cars is ready for the journey.

First off, the event took a turn during the journey when we offshoot from the original direction and we’ve landed near the Bukit Kayu Hitam border. Realizing we’ve already made a mistake, we took a U-turn and headed back to the Bukit-Kayu-Hitam/Kuala Perlis highway. However, halfway the highway, the JPJ1 decided it’s fun to have a roadblock and one of the cars was detained with a ticket.

When we continue to our journey, we got lost in the middle of Kangar (the state capital of Perlis) and we’re forced to do a detour. After moving for like another 40 minutes (with lots of stopping, asking for direction & more U-turns), finally we arrived at the paintball arena. The arena was surprisinly simple for a paintball battle ground. We've expected something more grand but after a little survey, we found that there is only one ground for the main match while others are still being upgraded for future usage.

Updating the convoy...

Upon arriving, we’re taken into short introduction of the paintball. The instructor placed very heavy emphasis on safety and our pronunciation in the game, especially on the weapons. For example, the gun should be called marker while the bullets should be called pellets. This is to avoid confusion and in some way, to avoid the law for the matter. With extreme patience, the instructor showed us how to use the marker and the way to reload the pellets. There was a little Q & A at the end but most of us are just too eager to get down and start shooting!

Gettin' very attentive, aren't we?

Bla bla bla, WHEN ARE WE GOING TO START SHOOTING?

Hell, even the mask looks like a rip-off from Halo!

After sometime with the classroom, we were then taken to the battle ground. There’s a large court with empty barrels & old tyres to serve as cover. The ground was covered with a large net to prevent the pellet leaving the court if a player accidentally took an aim the outside. The ground were covered with pebble stones, that allows player to skid sliding into safety. After more briefing, both team Cobra & SWAT took their equipments and was eager to get into the battle. Watching it from outside was fun as some of them were shot in the head, body, torso, etc. I can tell that these guys are really having serious fun.

The guardian referee...

After the first match is over, it’s my team (Terminator) against another, named "Too Fast Too Furious". However we realized we’re short of manpower and therefore recruited the help of Fuminari and other abled hands. Surprisingly, the match ended quickly with a victory to my team. I was shot twice and survived but I ran out of bullets real quick because each of us were given only 50 pellets. This is a learning experience as next time, most probably we'll get more pellets for a game.

The aftermath...

Still in the shooting mood, even when we're heading home!

Basically after we’ve finished, we let other team slug it out while we head to the bathroom. We’re chatting away on the lounge in the office and then we’ve been shown some clippings of an international paintball event. The convoy was split into two, 3 of the cars heading back while some other stayed behind to go for another round.

is it expensive?:P

Well, it takes approximately about RM 15 per game with 50 pellets. If next time I go, I might as well take 200 pellets which is the maximum the marker can take at a time...

RM15 per game for 50 pellets, wow, this is cheap, I did it in Bukit tinggi long time ago when it first came out, and we paid like RM60 for 50 pellets.

What other charges do they have?

Basically that's it. However this RM 15 is during promotional period and after Raya, it's going to cost about RM 25...

How much do they charge for extra pelets? like RM15 for 50 right and then if say I want to add more, how much do they charge?

Yes, additional RM15 for extra 50 pellets. So you'll have to spend about RM 60 to get the full pellet marker running...
