My words are my thoughts and I'm a pessimist person who just thinks that Murphy's Law is what defines me. I believe that anything bad that has ever happened will continue to do so. So, if anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway...

It looks like a bunch of garbled text, huh? Well, you can actually learn how to decode using by reading this post.

If you hate challenges, you might want to try jlys@[remove-this]tm.net.my but I only used this sparingly as it's the primary target for junk mails.

 My Reason For My Being

Recently, I just purchased a Nikon D70 camera to facilitate my curiosity into the camera world. You see, all my life, I have eat, breath and shit text. There is nothing more important to me than reading a piece of text. Thus this catering for my such long blog. And along the line, no matter how much words I put into it, I realized that a picture is always worth a thousand words. No matter how much emotion and variety I inject to a text composition, it will never rival next to a picture.

Don't get me wrong dear readers. Although I still love text but I have the curiosity of a cat about the world of photography. Fuminari and Teetoo has been lamenting all about photography and I couldn't help but to figure what is it so exciting about photography world.

Previously my father owned a film camera before (I don't remember the brand as it was purchase in the 1970s where you have to roll the film after all the 36 shots are exposed to the shutter) and I have some prior experience in the subject. Although there are many other good models out there, primarily Canon 300D & Olympus E-300, the reason I choose Nikon D70 is because of it's weight. Believe it or not, I've used enough of my father's camera and I'm very accustomated to its weight. I tried many others in the market and they're either pretty light or doesn't have the speed of consistent picture snapping.

I admit I love doing my research through the internet and I never missed any websites or forums pertaining on getting the correct picture composition. However going through the whole thing actually has put a strain to my head as I tried to incorporate what I read. However, on my last photo shoot, I realized that I still have a long way to go. Those things that I read through the internet barely grazed on the surface of the photography world. It is not something you can read as a theory and apply to it. Photography require a strict discipline, an open mind and a lot of creativity just to boot.

Most of the people who owned a Digital SLR1 camera used to own at least a point and shoot camera before. This allow them to get some experience before moving into a more serious streamlined photography. However, I guess I'm taking the leap of faith by directly jumping into a DSLR. So how does it fare? I dare say after I experience my first photo shoot, the results of my photography... left a lot to be desired.

I realized I'm still a long way on my journey of photography. At least this would be a challenging world where a split second is all there is for a window of opportunity. Unlike text, photographs to freeze a time forever for observer to enjoy it's composition, style and most importantly, the content. A text may be immortalized on papers or electronics but a picture will stick to a person's mind far more longer than a text.

1 SLR = Single-Lense Reflex: Basically, the lense gets the image & reflects that exact image to you through a mirror to the picture capture circuit. Standard point and shoot digital cameras uses video signal to make an adjustment. In short, DSLR is much like your old cameras, and preview is not reflected on the LCD, but instead through the viewfinder. This causes the photographer to get no prior adjustment except for his hand coordination skills and knowledge to take a good picture. However, since it's mostly manual work, a DSLR has a high quality picture capture instead of the standard digital cameras.

BlueSweetPie: There are people's preference for camera, some like it light while others like me like it heavy.

Nee Shen: Initially I thought of getting Panasonic FZ20, then Fuminari with his sly Devil-temptor deceived me to get a Canon 300D. I tried the 300D and found it to be too light! Then I tried the Olympus E-300, also hated the shape (how come all those entry-level SLR has the 300?). So finally got the D70, which I liked the weight and has no 300-branding mark to it...
