Today me and
Fuminari decided to lunch in because he has a lot of escalation to settle and I have nothing else better to do than to bath in a 100 degree Celsius baking sun going out for lunch. So, we both decided to lunch in. What a loyal employee, giving 110% to the company! *booing at the background*
Basically we both ordered chicken rice. However, the tar-pau
1 fellow came back with an additional rice packet. So, I decided to take them as I was still hungry. Fuminari, on the other hand received a nasi lemak
2 gift from his 'girlfriend'.
However, in due course, Fuminari wasn't the biggest fan when it comes to cuttlefish, and the nasi lemak is full with anchovies and cuttlefish. And at the same time, the whole thing has a very perculiar smell which I thought maybe is the cuttlefish that is giving the bad smell. So I took it from him and gulped down with my chicken rice.
Initially it was alright but all of a sudden, the smell of the cuttlefish seems to fill my throat. It felt sickening to the stomach to a point where I nearly puked. Fuminari realized my condition asked me to get a cup of coffee to put away the smell. I quickly got up but a damn customer called in just before I could put the phone on hold! Curse that customer! I quickly brush away the customer and went for our pantry. I ordered a thick black coffee and started to put the cup near to my nose.
Luck is on my side that I didn't puke first. After staying for about half an hour, the smell dies down after I put the coffee smell to my nose long enough. I even gulped down to coffee to make sure the coffee aroma wash the cuttlefish smell away. That's one cuttlefish that I won't be eating for a long time to come...
1 Tar-Pau is basically a take-away food purchase
2 Nasi Lemak is a made from a combination of rice & coconut milk. This will produce a very heavy aroma of the rice and it's tasty when it eaten with anchovies & sambal

3 Sambal is made from prawn paste, spices & chili meshed up together to produce a strong smelled paste and it's used to eat along with rice. Usually it's called Sambal Belacan, where Belacan is a prawn paste.
