My words are my thoughts and I'm a pessimist person who just thinks that Murphy's Law is what defines me. I believe that anything bad that has ever happened will continue to do so. So, if anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway...

It looks like a bunch of garbled text, huh? Well, you can actually learn how to decode using by reading this post.

If you hate challenges, you might want to try jlys@[remove-this]tm.net.my but I only used this sparingly as it's the primary target for junk mails.

 Coconut Husk Cave Trip

As you guys can relate Coconut Husk Cave briefly translates to Gua Tempurung. I was promised excitement of cave adventuring and I was not disappointed. Me, Fuminari and other colleague decided to embark on this journey of adventure. Upon reaching the Gua Tempurung ground, I was under the impression of carrying my knapsack with water bottles, ropes, first aid, insect repellent & etc. However, I was only told to have a waterproof torchlight & small battle of water to go.

We're then taken into man-built steps where we can see many work of nature imitation lots of things like tigers, dragons, jaguar but the most interesting part of the journey is accustomize our eyes to the darkness. After we've reached the end of the walkway, we're taken deep into the cave where our guide asked us to switch off our flashlight. And of all the places I've been, I was never in a place where my eyes cannot see. The total darkness was overwhelming. After about a minute or two, the guide asked us to switch on the light again. I didn't realize by doing the trick, I can see well even in low light.

We followed the guide, ranging from going through the slopes, went through a man-hole ant-hill, sliding down the rocks, squeezing through tight stalactite, army crawl through some low cavern & even went through an amazing marble rock with waterfall flowing through it. After going through that, we finally came out to the outside world again. It's quite a refreshing sight after what you see are only limestone, granites & marbles.

We went for a quick lunch before stopping at Kellies Castle. At first thought, we thought of paying RM 5 for seeing a half-completed castle was an absurd idea but after we went to the top, the sight was simply amazing. And there was even a ghost story accompanying the site! Just like what you expect to see from a local pontianak1 story.

After going through that, we went back to Nibong Tebal for dinner before everyone settled in for a good night sleep. However, the worst is yet to come. I got up on the next day with back & leg aching from over stress when we're in the cave. Well, I had so much fun that I didn't care anymore.

1 Pontianak is a female ghost vampire that hunts men for their blood.

Hiya!

That sounds like real fun! I love exploring caves, too, but where i am now, there are not many that are open to the public. When I was in Paris, I went underground exploring, too. See this link, "http://triggur.org/cata", for an example of the "caves" under a large city. Spooky! And you could really expect a Pontianak down there!

Well, glad you made it back without much trouble, and have a nice day!
