My words are my thoughts and I'm a pessimist person who just thinks that Murphy's Law is what defines me. I believe that anything bad that has ever happened will continue to do so. So, if anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway...

It looks like a bunch of garbled text, huh? Well, you can actually learn how to decode using by reading this post.

If you hate challenges, you might want to try jlys@[remove-this]tm.net.my but I only used this sparingly as it's the primary target for junk mails.

 Running Games On Linux

Everyone in the computer industry knows that running Windows games on Linux is next to impossible. However, Ms. Ong/Mrs. Khoo1, who was an expert in the Linux operating system, asked me to download a software called Cedega. After testing through his/her notebook, we found that Warcraft III runs flawlessly on the system without any hiccups. He/She then proceed to install it on my machine; a workstation is able to handle the needs of the emulator2.

It was a surprise that we're able to install Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos & Warcraft III Expansion: Frozen Throne. Although the sound is a little distorted, I'm sure that we can figure it out. The thing with emulator is that they are not perfect as they need a lot of tweaking. Tried Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and we encounter some error during the initial installation. However with Ms. Ong/Mrs. Khoo's expertise, we're able to get the game up within 45 minutes. Although the game's audio is a little distorted but the game plays fine without any problem.

Kudos to Ms. Ong/Mrs. Khoo!

1 Ms. Ong/Mrs. Khoo is great colleague to work with. The reason he was called so is because he used to have long hair and with his smooth skin, often mistaken as a member of the opposite sex.

2 The emulator Cedega is still a long way from being a real flagship program for Linux but it's heading towards the right direction.
