My words are my thoughts and I'm a pessimist person who just thinks that Murphy's Law is what defines me. I believe that anything bad that has ever happened will continue to do so. So, if anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway...

It looks like a bunch of garbled text, huh? Well, you can actually learn how to decode using by reading this post.

If you hate challenges, you might want to try jlys@[remove-this]tm.net.my but I only used this sparingly as it's the primary target for junk mails.

 Speakerphone Abuse

There's always a problem when the customer is using the speakerphone. Some customer would call us and the sound will always echoed across the customer's room and it's hard to actually hear what customer has been saying.

And some idiots just don't seem to take the hint that you have problem understanding them even though after a while you've repeated the same question that you cannot hear him. And the worst part is that some idiots actually use the speakerphone with his spouse/children/friend that when both of them talked, the whole line of communication goes haywire through my headset.

Here's one example in a call

Customer #1: "There is a problem with the motherboard..."
Customer #2: "Here's the mouse..."
Customer #1: "We need the service..."
Customer #2: "When the engineer will..."

And the whole conversation went echoed that I have problem trying to comprehend the situation. Heck, given the noice and intensity level, even a genius would have problem determining who's who. So, what do I do?

Me: "I seem to have problem hearing you. Perhaps you could switch off the speakerphone?"

And almost immediately they'll just close the speakerphone and you'll realized how easy it is to talk to these customers.

Me: "There, that sounds better. So how can I help you?"
